Buckeye, Arizona came in at number seven on the U.S. Census Bureau’s list of the 15 fastest growing large cities in the U.S. with populations of 50,000 or more in 2015. Buckeye was also the only Arizona city to make the list.

The list, which was released yesterday evening, shows from July 1, 2015 to July 1, 2016, Buckeye saw a 4.8 percent increase in population, reaching 64,629.

“The word is getting out about our great city,” said Buckeye Mayor Jackie Meck. “These numbers demonstrate what we’ve known all along, the city of Buckeye is a great place to live, work and play.”

Single family residential permits are steadily increasing each month in the city. With the steady increase in population, additional commercial and retail development follows. These components add to the quality of life element large companies look for when relocating.

Buckeye also provides excellent city services and events for residents. Our award winning Public Works Department and Skyline Regional Park, combined with year-round family friendly events, are just a few of the many benefits the living in Buckeye.

Each year, the U.S. Census Bureau releases estimates of the population for the nation, states, counties and Puerto Rico. Annual estimates for resident populations are produced by measuring population change, which includes all people currently residing in the United States.
